Léonor remembers walking the aisles of the Louvre, the Grand Palais, the Centre Pompidou, and the Museum of Modern Art of Paris with her father. It was there that she marvelled at the major classical and contemporary works: Fra Angelico’s Marco, Courbet, Matisse, the Nabis with Bonnard, Kandinsky… Marked by the emotional power of these creations, she developed a passion for the world of art and turned to drawing and painting. After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Versailles, she chose applied arts, in particular textiles, whose pictorial approach allowed her great creativity. After graduating from the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris, she began her professional career in London working for Liberty, Lelièvre, Designer Guild and Boussac. She designed fabrics, carpets and wallpapers for all these houses.
Elected Best Designer of the Year by Paris, Capital of Fashion in 2004.
Textile design naturally led her to create her own collection of home objects, using screen printing for textile accessories and earthenware for her line of tableware. She also creates exclusive collections for Le Bon Marché, Bernardaud, Bensimon Home Autour du Monde, or Galeries Lafayette.
The pleasure of making, of manipulating material and color that transform into shapes and then into design. It’s a whole journey that gives meaning and value to objects.
Today, with a degree in interior design, all of these experiences have provided her with solid expertise in color knowledge and combination, the search for sensuality in materials, and the appropriate selection of furniture, lighting, and all accessories. At Valentine Bärg agency, she works on all aspects of interior design and decoration: color research, texture proposals, or the creation of furniture and patterns. “My intervention can range from selecting floors to creating teaspoons if desired.”
Through exchanges with her clients, she incorporates their personality, preferences, and history into her proposals. With the ambition to create harmony, Léonor draws inspiration from the soul of the place, the evocations, and the imagery that the house projects. All while striving to bring uniqueness, a point of view, an artistic touch that defines the agency’s signature.
